#5GMadeTogether: Open RAN deployments – lessons learned
Two years ago we started the discussion about the future of telecommunications for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). We got together with stakeholders from organizations active in the mobile telecommunications market – mobile operators, regulators, R&D centers, governments, and business association representatives. Last year we moved forward and deployed the first 5G Open RAN laboratory in the region in partnership with Riga Technical University. This year’s focus is on real-life use cases, showcasing the deployments of private 5G networks that took place over the past year.
Areas of discussion:
- Real-life applications and installations: This event will delve deeply into real-world applications, demonstrating the tangible benefits and impacts of 5G technology. Discover the most common types of 5G installations and gain operational insights from actual deployments.
- Evolution and current status of 5G: Our journey began with planning at our first meeting two years ago, progressed to deploying the first private 5G network in Latvia at Riga Technical University using the Open RAN model last year. This year, we spotlight the deployments from the past year and provide an update on where we stand with deploying 5G mobile networks in the open model, addressing both challenges and successes.
- Lessons learned and practical guidance: Engage in discussions about the lessons learned from these deployments. Understand what strategies worked, what didn’t, and why. We aim to provide substantial insights for those planning to deploy private 5G networks, sharing practical knowledge on effective strategies and pitfalls to avoid.
The event is part of the 5G Techritory, the largest telco event in CEE which in 2023 gathered over 1600 participants from 71 countries. IS-Wireless is a proud Knowledge Partner of the conference and the Open RAN co-creation event organizer.
We think this co-creation event could be particularly interesting to:
- mobile operators and telecommunications vendors from the CEE region
- governments from the CEE region and from the UK
- regulators
- universities
- industry 4.0 including utility companies
- other businesses from the CEE region interested in deploying private networks
- integrators
- public safety
- towerco
- business associations
Location – ATTA Centre, Event Room “S”.
