Innovation and Funding

ABSTRACT: Timely deployment of 5G is a strategic opportunity for Europe where very high-capacity 5G networks will be a key asset for Europe to compete in the global market. Private firms will need to invest €500 billion to expand fast internet around the EU by 2025. Besides, for driving 5G ecosystem and fostering a new wave of start-ups and innovation around 5G technologies, there is a demand for pan-European 5G trials and EU funding instruments.
