Dr. Miodrag Djurica received his PhD in 2000 from the Technical University of Delft with a thesis on design methods for low-power A/D converters. After that he joined KPN Research, where he worked on self-organizing sensor networks. In 2003 he joined the Dutch research organization TNO where he still works on the Internet-of-Things, 5G,virtualization of networks (SDN and NFV) and remote device management. His focus is on L2/L3 protocols, system design of networks and self-optimization. One example of those projects is the EU project on SDN-enabled WiFi–WI5 (www.wi5.eu). Miodrag is active in one M2M standardization on automotive related topics, and is active as editor and contributor in the Broad Band Forum on the topic of home network measurements and link and path performance. His main interest in both OneM2M and Broad Band Forum are protocols and end-to-end architecture. He was chief infrastructure site architect for the Dutch pilot site Brainport, which is a part of the EU LSP Autopilot (www.autopilot-project.eu), using IoT for enhancing autonomous driving.
