Although Gerardo Werthein has studied veterinary medicine, he has dedicated his career to the business world.
Gerardo Werthein is the current President of the Argentine Olympic Committee. In 2011, he was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. He's also a Board Member of Telecom – the leading cellular phone company.
Throughout his career, Gerardo has taken numerous leadership positions in several companies and organizations. From 2003 to 2017, he was the Vice Chairman of the board of directors of Telecom Argentina. Whilst in the position, he negotiated and completed a $3.3 billion debt refinancing – one of the largest private debt restructurings in Argentina’s history.
Gerardo has participated for around 18 years in equestrian show jumping and has won prizes in several international competitions.
