Urmas Ruuto is the Head of the Technology Branch at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. Since joining the Centre in January 2021, he has taken care of a group of researchers and oversees the activities carried out by the Tech Branch, such as exercises, training, and research. The main focus of the Tech Branch is technical aspects of cyber defense, including monitoring, penetration testing, malware analysis, digital forensics, and industrial control systems.
Urmas has more than 20 years of experience in the telecom sector. He has acquired his Master of Science degree in Telecommunication at Tallinn Technical University.
