Berna Sayrac

RESEARCH PROGRAM COORDINATOR Orange

Berna Sayrac is a senior research engineer and research program coordinator in Orange Labs. She received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey, in 1990, 1992 and 1997, respectively. Berna worked as an Assistant Professor at METU between 2000 and 2001, and as a research scientist at Philips Research France between 2001 and 2002.

Since 2002, she is working at Orange Labs. Her current research activities and interests include 5G IoT networks and spectrum. Additionally, Berna has taken responsibilities and been active in several European research projects (FP7, 5G PPP/H2020 and Celtic+). Currently, she is with the Radio Innovation department of Orange Labs Networks and acting as the coordinator of the research program on RAN Architecture and Machine Communications. She is also the Orange’s representative in the 5G Alliance on Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA).

Berna holds several patents and has authored more than fifty peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and conferences. She also acts as expert evaluator for research projects, as well as reviewer, Technical Programme Committee member and guest editor for various conferences and journals.
