Ilga Bērzkalna

HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT Latvijas valsts meži (LVM) / Latvia's State Forests

Ilga is responsible for the innovation cycle from idea to implementation, including applied R&D, organizational development and change, forest technology transfer, project, programme and portfolio management (PPM), IS and IT development and maintenance. She has led the move to a process oriented organizational culture, developed PPM processes, and managed various large-scale digital transformation and change initiatives at LVM.

Ilga also leads the LVM’s collaboration with the Latvian innovation ecosystem – governmental, academic and research institutions, start-ups and state-owned and commercial enterprises.

Prior to joining LVM, Ilga was a management consultant and business trainer with over 20 years of international experience (North America, Europe, and Asia) in areas such as PPM, process improvement, organizational development, IT implementation, change management.

She holds a BS in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has done continuing education in organizational management and strategic planning at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, USA.
