5G Techritory 2021 to focus on partnerships and the collective best use of 300 billion EUR in available digitization funding

September 27, 2021

For the 4th consecutive year, the 5G Techritory forum will bring together the leading 5G decision-makers and practitioners from Europe and beyond.

5G Techritory will take place on November 22-25, 2021, in a phygital format (physical + digital), in Riga, Latvia. This year’s theme is ”The real value of 5G” and over four days, 4000 participants and 200+ speakers will seek answers to such questions as:

  • Consumer 5G – where is the money?
  • Testbeds and trials – did we learn something?
  • Cross-sector standards – are they happening?
  • Funding for 5G – how to get it?

Eyes on the funding and bonding

With the newly available European digitalization funds totaling over 300 billion EUR in value, this year’s main discussions will be on and around the opportunities for the collective best use of these funds to unblock the real value of 5G.

Over the past year, various funds have been announced with the aim of accelerating the rate of digitalization in Europe. These include the Recovery and Resilience Fund‘s digitalization budget (121B EUR) and the Green Deal (184B EUR) – both of which can be harnessed by the 5G industry. To participate in this discussion, the forum will welcome various representatives from the European Commission, including Roberto Viola, the Director-General of DG CONNECT.

Another focus of the forum this year will be on fostering partnerships and encouraging collaborations between the global practitioners of 5G that is crucial for accelerating 5G implementation and reaching tangible and practical results. Attendees can therefore expect unprecedented speaker-participant interactions, calls-to-collaboration, and widespread contact sharing.

New at 5G Techritory: Emporium and World Day

This year, the forum is launching a new initiative, Emporium (November 1-27) – a virtual matchmaking and networking platform designed to facilitate the partnership between various ecosystem participants in an R&D capacity. It will bring together household-name companies with tech innovators, universities, and researchers to form the R&D basis for new innovation projects. Companies such as Nokia, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and LMT will be among the participants looking to establish partnerships and collaborate with others on the next generation of 5G technologies.

5G Techritory 2021 will also shed light on current best practices by organizations and governments demonstrating excellence in 5G rollout. This will take place during a dedicated World Day (November 23), which aims to showcase trailblazing nations around the world and how they put legislation in place to pave the way for 5G. The country representatives will also share clever implementations of use cases, successful projects, and discuss the topic of financing.

Meanwhile, on Tech Day, over 500 case studies will be demonstrated, sharing how different organizations are using 5G to their advantage to provide real value to their users.

Who will participate?

At 5G Techritory 2021, attendees will have the chance to hear from the key people and organizations leading the global 5G deployment. Speakers who have already confirmed their participation include:
